*** UPDATE 11/20/2011 ON HOW TO USE POP3 IN A NEW BLOG POST HERE ***

For all you POP3 email users, you may be incredibly frustrated with the recent release of Mozilla's new version of the popular email client Thunderbird 3.

In the new mailbox setup, users are asked to simply enter their Name, Email, and Password. Then Thunderbird will automatically discover and add the server settings for you. Sounds great right? Well Thunderbird is forcing users to setup IMAP email addresses. Many users familiarity with IMAP is limited and/or avoided.

The best solution, for now, is simply to uninstall Thunderbird (those of you that upgraded, back up your mailboxes first) and install the last Thunderbird 2.0.23 release found here Download Thunderbird 2.0.23

I would hope that the great teams at Mozilla can iron this issue out quickly as most, if not all, of their products released are the top of their class.
